The initial conversation went a little like this:
"So, how do you feel about the New Forest? Specifically, Lyndhurst and Beaulieu? Only, there's this really amazing sandpit area, and some amazingly empty heathland!"
Gemma and Dan were "well up for it!" and so off we headed, navigating our way around boggy marsh and uncooperative native species (namely horses that would know exactly where we didn't want them to stand)! Dan was particularly excited about the horses, and I think he would have adopted one had it been ethical - Gemma, as she is well known for, rocked up in heels. And, I have to say, I was super impressed at her balance over the terrain in them, regardless of bump!

We started off at Lyndhurst, working our way to Beaulieu, pausing periodically to explore a little off the beaten track. The contrasting landscapes are stunning, and Gemma and Dan spent most of the time laughing both with and at each other so we had the best afternoon. It was the perfect mix of sun and rolling cloud - we even stopped for a picnic - thanks guys!
Oh, and not forgetting our little pause for ice cream (pregnancy cravings: a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!) along the high street in Beaulieu... we'd definitely recommend the Chocolate Studio, it was delicious!
