Are these two ever NOT laughing? Show me a wedding with more giggles and I don't know what I'd do with myself... Even I was crying with laughter during the speeches, but I think probably for the sake of privacy I shouldn't reveal the exact contents... suffice to say it included an unexpected first meeting between the Groom and Father of the Bride, a ruined pair of trousers, and a mortified Bride...
Kate's family made me feel amazingly welcome from the moment I rocked up for bridal prep, and that vibe of love and welcoming only continued and grew as they were joined by further family and friends from all over the world. Kate's dress was a slinky number with an impressive detachable train for two looks in one, and she'd had all the bridesmaids' dresses made bespoke. I love a bridal prep full of visitors as it makes for a great atmosphere full of excitement and celebration. When I met the boys at the Church, they were dressed impeccably in some gorgeous tweed which was really nice to see, and it really fitted with their relaxed atmosphere for the day.
Kate and Will were married at the local church (St Mary's, Reigate), and then made their way by vintage car and coach to Reigate Heath Golf Club. The golf club looks out over some spectacular heathland - it was the perfect setting to get people celebrating outside and mingling all around the building.
On the tables, Kate and Will had made all of the place names which were really sweet wooden slices, complete with moss, and the whole vibe was really relaxed. There were flowers everywhere, which had all been done by Kate's mum (including the flower crowns and bouquets for the girls). The homemade cake sparkled and was delicious - it was also very well caught during its tumble during the cake cutting!
They also had an awesome surprise for their guests - a Cèilidh band! Kate and Will spend as much time in Cornwall as they can - escaping to little coves and swimming, sea kayaking, exploring, soaking up traditional music and incredible landscape. They had named each of their tables after places they have visited in Cornwall, and it only felt natural to them to bring some traditional Cornish music to their wedding, complete with traditional dancing! It was the BEST way to get people up and dancing, and laughing, with all age groups involved, and it meant I had an amazing dinner as the band warmed up - it felt like I was in an episode of Poldark!
The sunset was just stunning, and we made our way across some of the heath and golf course for the bridal party and couple shots, before making our way back for a second round of dancing and DJ. Kate and Will definitely know how to party, and I hope they continue to show everyone how it's done together, well into old age!
